When The Man looked up from his keyboard he realised that the office had begun to empty and the clock on the wall opposite his seat read 12:58.
The Man tapped the last few words, clicked on “save” and then closed down his machine.
When he left the office he was the last so no one was to notice the space between the stack of papers and monitor on his desk was now empty. It would not be until Monday that The Man would turn to the person sat next to him and ask what had happened to Jingle; and it would not be until a long time later that The Man would read through “The Adventure of Jingle Jiggins” again and get a strange idea where the reindeer had gotten to.
By then of course, Jingle had gotten himself into many more adventures.
